Dear Lucas,
I have shewn your letter of the 2nd instant as to the Hong Kong scheme to Sir G.Fiddes, with some suggestions as to prices for selling silver and buying rupee securities. He says, however, that he is not enamoured of the scheme in any circumstances and certainly not at present when the price of silver is jumping about in a spasmodic way, and that it had better be dropped. Will you please let Abrahams know?
Yours sincerely,
